Toffa Massage
– a unique massage technique authored by Heinrich Joseph Toffa, a well-known plastic surgeon in the Netherlands. This technique was developed taking into account the needs and characteristics of aesthetic problems faced by women aged 30 and older. The fact is that Dr. Toffa, during his medical practice, repeatedly encountered relatively young patients who were eager to try all the wonders of plastic surgery, even though they did not yet have direct indications for such operations. As a highly qualified specialist, he was against the early use of such radical methods, so he developed a non-surgical alternative for his clients aged 30-40, which became known as the Toffa massage. This technique is used to postpone the need for plastic surgeries or filler injections for years, until they are definitely and finally needed.
The main task of this massage technique is to restore muscle tone in the areas of the face, cheeks, and décolleté by enhancing blood circulation, normalizing oxygen saturation in the dermis and nearby muscles, as well as increasing skin elasticity. The massage is performed in the areas of the face, neck, and décolleté. The Toffa massage technique allows for visible rejuvenation results of the skin on the face, neck, and décolleté for an extended period without the intervention of a scalpel or syringe. The massage eliminates facial "fatigue" that appears due to ptosis, the first superficial wrinkles, and shallow changes in the dermis associated with muscle deformation or decreased tone.
How did the plastic surgeon achieve such results without using a scalpel? The popularity and demand for the Toffa massage are not only related to the specifics of the technique but rather to the solid clinical basis of this method. Essentially, this massage was developed by a specialist who deeply understood the processes of aging and changes in facial contours due to transformations occurring in the skin and surrounding tissues with age. The author of the technique considered various causes of atrophy and changes in muscle configuration that lead to the "sagging" of facial features and the loss of their original beauty. One could even say that this massage technique works with the face in a "3D format". In developing the methodology, Dr. Toffa took into account not only the transformation of the skin and muscles but also the influence of large blood vessels and capillaries, the functionality of nerve endings, and synthesized this knowledge into one cohesive approach. Thus, as specialists claim, the Toffa massage simultaneously acts in four directions.
Myostructural – the massage works at the muscle level. The movements of the masseur are along the muscle fibers, rather than across (as in most massage techniques);
Vascular – the movements of the masseur activate the local blood circulation, improving the nutrition of the muscles and skin while simultaneously preventing couperose;
Cranial – the bone framework is worked on, with careful attention to the cervical spine;
Neurosedative – at the level of the nervous system, the Toffa massage allows for the relaxation of muscles in the face and neck that are tense from spasms, as well as providing deep relaxation, which is achieved literally in one session.
