Professional Development for Cosmetologists: Which Master Classes to Take After a Basic Course
A basic course gives you a profession, but it does not cover everything clients ask for. Sooner or later a cosmetologist wants to learn mesotherapy, work more confidently with peels or handle problem skin. Here is which Biotonika master classes fit after a basic course, who each one is for and how to choose your first.
Why cosmetologists need professional development
Professional development lets you add new techniques to your practice and use them safely. A basic course teaches the foundations — skin care, facial cleansing, massage and device-based methods. Injection techniques and more advanced work with peels or acne are separate subjects, each needing its own theory, protocols and hands-on training.
Another reason is a systematic understanding. Many cosmetologists know product and procedure names but want to understand what happens to the skin at each stage, which effects are desirable and which to avoid, and what to do if complications arise. That is what Biotonika's master classes are built for: each covers one topic and most take a single day.
If you are just entering the profession, start with the foundations rather than a master class. The basic and hardware cosmetology course is training from scratch, with no medical degree required: 390 hours, 282 of them practical. Its programme, like all the master classes, is on the Courses page.
Three paths after a basic course
Biotonika's training follows three directions. Beginners take the basic course. Cosmetologists and doctors who want to work physiologically take the Bioregulatory Cosmetology master class cycle. Doctors who already do injections take the Practical Dermatocosmetology cycle. Every master class in a cycle can also be taken on its own if you need just one topic.
The bioregulatory cosmetology cycle brings together five topics: mesotherapy basics, acne, chemical peeling, cellulite and plasma therapy. They share one approach: an external skin problem is a reason to look at the state of the whole body, and treatment should help the body restore its own regulation.
The Practical Dermatocosmetology cycle covers three topics for doctors with an injection practice: an algorithm for comprehensive facial rejuvenation by ageing morphotype, botulinum therapy for "complex faces", and preventing complications in contouring. Each topic lasts 5 hours and includes clinical case reviews.
Because all the programmes are taught by one person — cosmetic doctor Larysa Lonchar — the topics of the cycles build on each other rather than repeat.
Mesotherapy Basics: the first step into injection cosmetology
Mesotherapy Basics is a master class for cosmetologists and doctors who want to introduce mesotherapy into their practice with confidence or put what they already know in order. It has two levels: a 5-hour basic level and a 9-hour advanced level. The programme focuses on safety: protocol, indications and contraindications, side effects and preventing complications.
The theory covers the history and methods of mesotherapy, the protocol for mesotherapy and biorevitalization, mesotherapy zones and areas, and the classification of mesotherapy products. Bioregulatory techniques — homeomesotherapy and biopuncture — are covered separately, and they are what set this course apart.
The practical part:
- performing capillary mesotherapy;
- hands-on training in basic mesotherapy and biorevitalization techniques;
- practice on models;
- presentation of certificates.
See the programme and format on the Mesotherapy Basics page. If after the basics you want to go deeper into biopuncture, there is a separate two-day master class for specialists, The Secret of the Rejuvenating Apples.
Chemical Peeling: choosing the product and aftercare consciously
The Chemical Peeling master class is for cosmetologists and doctors who already work with peels or are about to introduce them. In 4 hours the programme goes from general information and types of peels to post-peel care and possible complications. The aim is to choose a peel for a specific skin rather than work "by the instructions".
The theory covers the stages of chemical peeling, acids and enzymes as peeling agents and a comparison of acid and enzyme peels, indications and contraindications, desirable and undesirable effects on the epidermis and dermis, complications, post-peel care and mesopeel.
The practical part consists of tests and peel demonstrations: you see the procedure live and check how well you have learned the theory. Practice on models is not listed in this master class's programme — worth bearing in mind if hands-on training is what you need. Certificates are presented at the end. Details on the Chemical Peeling page.
Acne: a bioregulatory approach
The master class Acne — Physiological Treatment is designed for doctors of all specialities. It is not a general acne course for beginners but training in a specific approach: how to assess the patient, what to use externally and how to build a scheme with physiological regulatory medicine products. Acne serves here as an example of a chronic inflammatory process.
The theory moves from diagnosis to treatment approach: aetiology and pathogenesis, types of acne and severity assessment, management with physiological regulatory medicine products, external therapy and corneotherapy, and autohaemotherapy schemes combined with Heel products.
The practical part includes testing Dr.Belter lines for oily and problem skin, drawing up stepwise autohaemotherapy schemes and practice on models. The master class lasts 5 hours. Programme on the Acne — Physiological Treatment page.
Plasma therapy and cellulite: two topics to go deeper
Two more topics of the bioregulatory cosmetology cycle are plasma therapy and cellulite. Both last 5 hours and are for cosmetologists and doctors. In plasma therapy you learn to work with PRP by understanding the mechanism rather than following a ready-made scheme; in the cellulite master class you learn to see it as a problem of the whole body, not only the skin.
Plasma Therapy: Conscious Understanding and Application of the Method is useful both for those who already practise PRP and for newcomers: the former systematise their knowledge and check their protocols, the latter get a foundation to start from. The practical part includes practice on models and discussion of protocols.
Cellulite in Integrative Medicine is for those who find local procedures not enough. The programme covers lipodystrophy and the mechanism of obesity, clinical types and stages of cellulite, a system of biological correction, local therapy with homeomesotherapy, and Dr.Belter products for salon and home care. The practical part is a homeomesotherapy demonstration.

A single master class or a cycle, in person or online
A single master class suits you when you need one specific skill, such as mesotherapy or peels. Choose a cycle if you want to rebuild your practice around one approach: bioregulatory or injection-based. The in-person format gives more practice, online saves time, and the on-site format works well for a group of colleagues from one city.
A few tips for choosing the format:
- You need hands-on training — choose an in-person or one-to-one format and a master class whose programme includes practice on models.
- You want to systematise theory — remote study via Skype or Zoom works for most topics.
- You are studying with colleagues — an on-site master class in your city is easier than everyone travelling to Kyiv.
How to choose your first master class
Start with the clients you work with now and what you want to add to your practice. For injection techniques the first step is usually Mesotherapy Basics; for care procedures, Chemical Peeling. Doctors who treat patients with chronic skin problems will find the Acne master class closer to their needs.
Before signing up, it helps to answer a few questions:
- What is your education, and which techniques do you already use? Some master classes are designed specifically for doctors.
- What are you missing: theory, protocols or practice on models?
- Do you want one topic or a complete approach — in which case consider a cycle?
- Which format is realistic for you: Kyiv, on site, online, group or one-to-one?
To sign up or ask about the next group, individual training or an on-site class in your city, call +38 067 780 22 13 or message on Viber at the same number. If you cannot decide between two master classes, describe the patients you work with and you will be advised which topic to start with. The full list of courses, lengths and prices is on the Courses page.
